Regular Season Round 11: Miramar - Martorell 74-72

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Martorell (5-6) was edged on the road by seventh ranked Miramar (5-6) 74-72 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-18. But Martorell won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Gabriel Torres (198-89) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Center Carlos Poyatos (207-94) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Guillem Jou (195-97) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Nil Sabata (205-96) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Miramar moved-up to fourth place in Group C-B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Martorell. Miramar will face Pardinyes-L. (#8) in Lleida in the next round. Martorell will play at home against Castellbisbal (#9) and hope to win that game.
