Regular Season Round 17: Zhejiang CB - Shanghai S. 101-111

An interesting game took place in Hangzhou where higher ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (10-7) was upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked Shanghai Sharks (8-9) 111-101 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 111-101. Shanghai Sharks shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) who scored 57 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Wei Lu (194-85) chipped in 15 points. American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) produced 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and Iranian forward Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-83) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Shanghai Sharks and four Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to tenth place. Loser Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Beijing Ducks and Shandong FB. Shanghai Sharks will meet at home North Control (#11) in the next round. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play against Foshan (#19) and hope to secure a win.
