Important game to mention about took place in Changchun. Eighteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (5-12) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 17th ranked Bayi Rockets (5-12) 102-100 in the fight for the seventeenth place. Bayi Rockets were ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 32-20 third quarter run of Jilin Tigers. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) nailed 26 points and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Jinming Cui (193-92) accounted for 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international guard Shuo Han (196-86) came up with 26 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Bayi Rockets in the defeat. Five Jilin Tigers and four Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Bayi Rockets' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Jilin Tigers moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Bayi R. Jilin Tigers will play against higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#5) in Yingkou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bayi Rockets will play at home against Qingdao Eagles (#13) and hope to get back on the winning track.
