Regular Season Round 10: Kings - Wildcats 69-87

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Perth Wildcats (11-5) beat bottom-ranked Kings (3-11) in Sydney 87-69 on Sunday. Kings were trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 29-10 charge of Perth Wildcats, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Jermaine Beal (191-87, college: Vanderbilt) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 assists. The former international forward Jesse Wagstaff (203-86, college: Metro St.) contributed with 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Julian Khazzouh (209-86) added 8 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Kings. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perth Wildcats have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-5 record, which they share with United. Kings lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Perth Wildcats will face Townsville Crocodiles (#7) in Wulguru in the next round where they are favorite. Kings will play on the road against Illawarra Hawks in Gwynneville and hope to win that game.
