Regular Season Round 17: Qingdao E. - Jiangsu TX 138-124

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixteenth ranked Qingdao Eagles and 15th ranked Jiangsu TX had identical 6-10 record. This time Qingdao Eagles used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Jiangsu 138-124. The game was mostly controlled by Qingdao Eagles. Jiangsu TX was better in third quarter 30-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Qingdao Eagles shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 56 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import center Alan Williams (203-93, college: UCSB) contributed with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) answered with 45 points (!!!) and 9 assists and Canadian center Liam McMorrow (218-87, college: Tenn Tech) added 17 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) in the effort for Jiangsu TX. Four Qingdao Eagles and five Jiangsu TX players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Qingdao Eagles have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Jiangsu TX at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Qingdao Eagles' next round opponent will be Bayi Rockets (#18) in Ningbo and are hoping to win another game. Jiangsu TX will play on the road against Shandong Bulls in Jinan and hope to win that game.
