Leader Soles delivered the eighteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 9th ranked Gigantes (5-10) 104-96 in Mexicali. Gigantes trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 22-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 96-104 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a quality performance of Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds and international forward Juan Anderson (198-93, college: Marquette) who added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. International forward Edgar Garibay (208-90, college: Long Beach St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Tim Pickett (192-81, college: Florida St., agency: Interperformances) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Four Soles and five Gigantes players scored in double figures. Soles (18-1) have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Loser Gigantes dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Correcaminos. Soles will meet Ciudad (#7) in the next round where they are favorite.
