Regular Season Round 11: Marghera - Carugate 70-60

Rather predictable result in Venezia where ninth ranked Marghera (4-6) defeated 13th ranked Carugate (2-8) 70-60 on Sunday. Carugate was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Marghera forced 24 Carugate turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Erika Striulli (170-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Guard Irene Mattiuzzo (165-90) helped adding 14 points. Power forward Stefania Guarneri (182-95) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Susanna Stabile (178-80) scored 13 points and 4 steals. Carugate's coach Michele Puopolo let to play ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Marghera maintains ninth place in A2 with 4-6 record. Loser Carugate keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Marghera will face Costa Masnaga (#10) on the road in the next round. Carugate will play against Scrivia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
