Bottom-ranked Canberra Capitals (0-12) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to seventh ranked Boomers (6-7) 78-75. The hosts were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 24-19 run, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brittany Smart (175-85, college: Cedarville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Madeleine Garrick (178-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Boomers players scored in double figures. The former international center Abby Bishop (189-88) replied with 31 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Carly Wilson (181-82) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Canberra Capitals. Boomers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with SEQ. Canberra Capitals at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Boomers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Sydney Uni Flames (#4) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Canberra Capitals will play against Adelaide Lightning (#8) and hope to get finally their first victory.
