Regular Season Round 10: Victoria - Tsmoki-Minsk 55-83

The game in Grodno supposed to be also quite interesting. Top-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (9-0) played at the court of 7th ranked Victoria (3-8). Tsmoki-Minsk smashed Victoria 83-55 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tsmoki-Minsk. Victoria was better in second period 21-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game, while Victoria only scored five points from the stripe. Tsmoki-Minsk forced 23 Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 57-35 including a 23-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Amber Jones (170-91, college: UAB) scored 22 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian point guard Gabriele Gutkauskaite (176-90) chipped in 7 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Tsmoki-Minsk players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Mariya Vasilevko (183-99) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Tatsiana Khadzko (176-96) scored 14 points. Victoria's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Tsmoki-Minsk have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Olimpia. Victoria lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with eight games lost. Tsmoki-Minsk's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Gorizont II.
