Regular Season Round 7: Maccabi R.Hen - Elitzur Holon 83-64

D1 top team - Maccabi Ramat Hen (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Elitzur Holon (1-6) 83-64. Maccabi Ramat Hen made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Elitzur Holon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) helped adding 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of her seven free throws). At the losing side the former international forward Shira Shecht (183-91, college: Monmouth) responded with 25 points and 4 assists and Nigerian-American forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. Elitzur Holon's coach Roi Aizinberg rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Maccabi Ramat Hen have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Elitzur Holon at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Hap.Petah Tikva. Maccabi Ramat Hen are looking forward to face Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Elitzur Holon will play against ASA Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
