Regular Season Round 10: Batumi - Olimpi 87-84

Important game to mention about took place in Batumi. Second ranked Batumi (6-3) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Olimpi (4-4) 87-84 on Tuesday evening. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Batumi players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. International Akaki Dvalishvili (206-91) had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Ukrainian forward Igor Krivtsov (201-86) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side international guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Jeremy Bynum (193-88, college: Jacksonville St.) scored 25 points. Four Olimpi players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Batumi maintains second position with 6-3 record behind leader Kutaisi. Olimpi at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Batumi will play against Energy Invest (#7) in Rustavi in the next round where they are favorite. Olimpi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Mgzavrebi.
