Regular Season Round 11: Brasilia - Macae 107-104 OT

Macae (#12) forced the game against Brasilia (#9) into an overtime, but lost by three points 104-107. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Macae. Macae cut a 14-point halftime deficit to tie the game at the end of regular time. But they lost overtime period 14-17. Brasilia made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Macae's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Macae helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Ronald Reis (211-91) accounted for 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Brasilia's coach Jose Carlos Vidal allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Power forward Anderson Mosso (205-82, college: Chipola JC) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and American point guard Caleb Brown (183-89, college: Austin Peay St.) added 30 points and 4 assists respectively for Macae in the defeat. Brasilia maintains ninth place with 4-3 record. Macae at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Brasilia's next round opponent will be higher ranked Flamengo (#3) in Rio de Janeiro and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Macae will play on the road against Minas (#8) in Belo Horizonte and hope to win that game.
