Regular Season Round 21: Abejas - Jefes 86-73

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Jefes' (7-8) road loss to fifth ranked Abejas (7-9) 73-86. It was a good game for the former international point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 7 assists. American-Jamaican forward McHugh Mattis (198-84, college: S.Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) answered with 21 points and American forward Jalen Cannon (198-93, college: St.Francis, NY) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Jefes. Jefes' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Abejas went down to sixth position due to points difference. Jefes at the other side dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Abejas will again play against higher ranked Jefes (#5) in Lagunera in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jefes will have a break next round.
