Regular Season Round 11: Franca - B.Cearense 78-106

Date: December 15, 2015
There was a minor upset in Sao Paulo where 6th ranked Vivo/Franca (5-5) was crushed by eighth ranked SKY/Basquete (5-5) 106-78 on Tuesday. SKY/Basquete forced 20 Vivo/Franca turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Rashaun McLemore (193-86, college: CS Northridge) who scored 19 points. The former international forward Marcus Vinicius Toledo (201-86) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. Center Douglas Kurtz (213-87, college: Hawaii) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and forward Antonio Ferreira (178-94) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SKY/Basquete have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Franca. SKY/Basquete will face league's leader Paschoalotto/Bauru on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
