Regular Season Round 20: Esprit Kosice - Prievidza 82-98

An interesting game for Prievidza (14-3) which played road game in Kosice against second-ranked Esprit Kosice (13-5). First ranked Prievidza had an easy win 98-82. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Esprit Kosice. Prievidza made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Esprit Kosice 32-21 including 23 on the defensive glass. Prievidza shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Croatian swingman Marko Batina (197-86, agency: PEPI SPORT) who scored that evening 24 points and American-Liberian point guard Jaytornah Wisseh (185-88, college: LIU Brooklyn) supported him with 12 points and 9 assists. Even 20 points and 4 assists by American power forward Reggie Keely (202-91, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) did not help to save the game for Esprit Kosice. Croatian forward Sasa Jankovic (204-84) added 15 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Four Prievidza and five Esprit Kosice players scored in double figures. Esprit Kosice's coach Stefan Svitek gave the chance to play for ten players seeing no chance for a win. Prievidza have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-3 record. Newly promoted Esprit Kosice dropped to the third place with five games lost. Prievidza will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Esprit Kosice will play against Levice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
