Regular Season Round 7: Al Ahli - Qatar 85-64

Date: December 16, 2015
Al Ahli can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Qatar Sports Club (1-6) 85-64 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Al Ahli. Qatar Sports Club managed to win fourth quarter 29-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al Ahli dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Sports Club's 36. It was a great evening for American forward Lamar Roberson (203-86, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. American-Togolese guard Jimmy Williams (196-86, college: Alders.-Broad.) helped adding 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American swingman Rashad Woods (197-86, college: Kent St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and the other American import power forward Malcolm White (205-88, college: LSU) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 21 rebounds. Qatar Sports Club's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Al Ahli left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Qatar. It was Qatar Sports Club's third loss in a row. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
