Regular Season Round 18: Liaoning H. - Jilin NE T. 111-106

Date: December 16, 2015
No shocking result in a game in Yingkou where fifth ranked Liaoning Hunters (12-6) defeated 17th ranked Jilin Tigers (5-13) 111-106. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-19. But Jilin Tigers won third quarter 31-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Liaoning Hunters forced 19 Jilin Tigers turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Jilin Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) notched 30 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) supported him with 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 32 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists by Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) did not help to save the game for Jilin Tigers. The former international forward Cheng Zhong (206-89) added 11 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Jilin Tigers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Liaoning Hunters maintains fifth position with 12-6 record. Jilin Tigers at the other side keep the seventeenth place with 13 games lost. Liaoning Hunters' next round opponent will be league's leader Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi and it may be quite challenging game. Jilin Tigers will play on the road against Shanghai Sharks (#10) and hope to win that game.
