Regular Season Round 18: Sichuan BW - Beijing Ducks 106-119

We should mention about the upset which took place in Sichuan, where higher ranked Sichuan BW (13-5) lost at home to ninth ranked Beijing Ducks (11-7) 106-119 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sichuan BW. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. Sichuan BW managed to win third quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and point guard Justin Dentmon (183-85, college: Washington) scored 27 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Shandong FB and Zhejiang CB. Loser Sichuan BW keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Beijing Ducks will meet Bayi Rockets (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sichuan BW will play against North Control (#12) and hope to secure a win.
