Regular Season Round 18: Eidsvoll - Baerum Basket 80-103

Date: December 17, 2015
Bottom-ranked Eidsvoll (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 103-80 loss to seventh ranked Baerum Basket (6-7) in Oslo. The game was mostly controlled by Baerum Basket. Eidsvoll was better in fourth quarter 28-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Baerum Basket forced 23 Eidsvoll turnovers. Strangely Eidsvoll outrebounded Baerum Basket 46-30 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. It was a good game for point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) who led his team to a victory with 45 points (!!!) and 7 assists. American forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin) contributed with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds for the winners. American forward John Groover (194) replied with 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and Nigerian-American forward Joseph Nwabuzor (192-85) added 11 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Eidsvoll. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Baerum Basket moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Eidsvoll still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
