No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Gigantes (7-11) beat bottom-ranked Panteras (4-14) in Toluca 98-91. They outrebounded Panteras 43-28 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gigantes players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American swingman Tim Pickett (192-81, college: Florida St., agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. The other American import forward Howard Crawford (205-88, college: UAB) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Raymont McElroy (190-89, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) produced 25 points and international point guard Adrian Jesus Villalobos (183) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Panteras' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gigantes moved-up to seventh place. Panteras at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Gigantes' next round opponent will be higher ranked Jefes (#5) in Lagunera and it may be quite challenging game.
