Regular Season Round 22: Fuerza Regia - Pioneros 86-92

An interesting game for Pioneros (16-2) which played road game in Monterrey against one of their biggest challengers Fuerza Regia (11-6). Second ranked Pioneros managed to get a 6-point victory 92-86. Pioneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican point guard Denis Clemente (183-86, college: Kansas St.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 17 points for the winners. American-Puerto Rican forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina) replied with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Fuerza Regia. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pioneros have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 16-2 record having nine points less than leader Soles. Fuerza Regia lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost. Pioneros are looking forward to face Abejas (#6) in Guanajuato in the next round. Fuerza Regia will play on the road against Santos in San Luis Potosi and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
