Regular Season Round 12: Crema - Albino 73-68 OT

Albino (#4) forced the game against Team Crema (#3) into an overtime, but lost by five points 68-73 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 23-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-9. Team Crema outrebounded Albino 44-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. Albino was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Gilda Cerri (185-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was guard Laura Fumagalli (178-85) who recorded 20 points and 5 assists and the former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Albino's coach Michele Pasqua tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Team Crema maintains third position in A2 with 8-3 record having five points less than leader Ferrara. Albino at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Team Crema will face Scrivia (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Albino will play against Carugate (#12) and hope to win that game.
