Regular Season Round 11: Psyhiko - Faros 67-77

Undefeated leader Faros delivered the eleventh consecutive win on Saturday night. This time they beat 9th ranked Psyhiko (3-6) 77-67 in Athens. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Nikos Liakopoulos (188-83, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 22 points and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Forward Nikos Angelopoulos (205-84, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Vasilis Angelakopoulos (203-79) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and guard Giannis Dimakos (192-94) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Faros (11-0) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Newly promoted Faros maintains first place with a perfect record of 11 victories in a row. Psyhiko at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Faros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Psyhiko will play on the road against Promitheas (#3) in Patras and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
