Everything went according to plan in Melilla where fifth ranked Velez (4-4) won against 8th ranked CAM E.Soler (2-6) 74-61 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-61. The best player for the winners was point guard Rafael Pozo (175-88) who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Emiliano Garcia (180-92) chipped in 13 points. Velez's coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Jose Martinez (201-88) who recorded 15 points and 6 rebounds and center Jorge Rodriguez (198-94) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four CAM E.Soler players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Velez maintains fifth position in Group D-East with 4-4 record. CAM E.Soler lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. Velez will face higher ranked Andujar (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
