Regular Season Round 12: Naron - Estudiantes L. 83-79

Date: December 19, 2015
Everything went according to plan when third ranked Naron (6-6) won against at home 11th ranked Estudiantes L. (1-6) 83-79 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-11. But Estudiantes L. won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naron forced 19 Estudiantes L. turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Brantley Osborne (193-91, college: Shepherd) who scored 26 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Dylan Sparkman (208, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Osborne is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Roberto Abuin (190-95) who recorded 22 points and guard Jose Antonio Lopez (190-96) added 6 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Naron moved-up to second place in Group A-B. Loser Estudiantes L. dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Naron will face San Fernando (#5) at home in the next round. Estudiantes L. will play against Chantada (#7) and hope to win that game.
