Regular Season Round 25: Shinshu BW - Hiroshima L. 108-73

There was no surprise in Nagano where 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-20) was outplayed by tenth ranked Shinshu BW (7-14) 108-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Hiroshima L. was better in third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Shinshu BW outrebounded Hiroshima L. 44-28 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach Koju Munakata felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Adam Herman (199-91, college: Concordia, OR) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Shinshu BW maintains tenth place with 7-14 record. Hiroshima L. lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 20 games lost. Shinshu BW will face again Hiroshima L. (#12) at home in the next round.
