Regular Season Round 12: AZS AGH Alstom - Zaglebie 84-60

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Zaglebie (5-7) was outscored by second ranked AZS AGH Alstom (11-1) in Krakow 84-60 on Saturday. AZS AGH Alstom dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Zaglebie's 40. They outrebounded Zaglebie 42-22 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. AZS AGH Alstom looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Zaglebie's players. It was a good game for power forward Maciej Maj (200-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Damian Kalinowski (201-91) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. AZS AGH Alstom's coach Wojciech Bychawski felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Piotr Osiakowski (197-92) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Filip Taisner (202-94) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Zaglebie. AZS AGH Alstom have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group C leader, which they share with Polonia Bytom. Loser Zaglebie keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. AZS AGH Alstom will face Cieszyn (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zaglebie will play against MKS DG 2 and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the 1Liga just one year after relegation.
