Regular Season Round 12: Andratx - Segle XXI 58-73

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when thirteenth ranked Segle XXI (3-9) defeated on the road 12th ranked Andratx (3-9) 73-58. The game was mostly controlled by Segle XXI. Andratx was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Segle XXI dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Andratx's 34. It was a good game for forward Paula Ginzo (187-98) who led her team to a victory with 26 points and 6 rebounds. Center Laia Sole (184-98) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Esther Morillo (169-79) added 14 points in the effort for Andratx. Andratx's coach tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Segle XXI moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Andratx and Olimpico 64. Andratx lost third consecutive game. Segle XXI's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Barcelona Barcelona.
