Regular Season Round 12: Chantada - Betanzos 47-41

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Betanzos (1-6) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Chantada (4-3) 47-41 on Saturday. Betanzos trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 10-5 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 41-47 at the end of the game. Chantada forced 23 Betanzos turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Jacobo De Benito (180-90) who scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Carlos Noguerol (186-93) chipped in 7 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Jose Miguel Perez (202-96) who recorded 8 points and 12 rebounds and guard Antonio Seijo (193-81) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively. Chantada moved-up to sixth place in Group A-B, which they share with Leon. Betanzos lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Chantada will face Estudiantes L. (#12) in Lugo in the next round where they are favorite. Betanzos will play at home against Grupo Inec Z. and hope to win that game.
