Regular Season Round 25: Kanazawa Samuraiz - Toyama Grouses 68-71

Important game to mention about took place in Ishikawa. Fifth ranked Toyama Grouses (13-8) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz (12-11) 71-68 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kanazawa Samuraiz. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-11. But Kanazawa Samuraiz won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh, agency: HMS) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) accounted for 15 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Yuji Yuji (181-88) came up with 15 points and 6 assists and guard Tsubasa Yonamine (173-83) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for Kanazawa Samuraiz in the defeat. Toyama Grouses moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Fukushima. Kanazawa Samuraiz at the other side keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Toyama Grouses will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kanazawa Samuraiz will play again at home against Toyama Grouses (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
