Regular Season Round 12: Ourense - Vigren 92-77

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Ourense (2-3) defeated at home 6th ranked Vigren (4-2) 92-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Ourense. Vigren was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot 62.7 percent from the field. The best player for the winners was forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Martin Rodriguez (182-96) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Rodrigo Cid Garcia (196-96) who recorded 26 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Michael Balkovic (198, college: Caldwell, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Ourense and four Vigren players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Ourense maintains eighth position in Group A-B with 2-3 record. Loser Vigren dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Ourense will face higher ranked Mieres BVM (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vigren will play against the league's second-placed Naron where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
