Regular Season Round 12: L`Alfas - Cartagena 68-73

There was a surprise result in Alfas Del Pi where tenth ranked Cartagena (1-10) won against higher ranked L`Alfas (5-5) 73-68 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Cartagena forced 26 L`Alfas turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Chema Albaladejo (191-90) who scored 20 points. Forward Jorge Lledo (203-80) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was FYR Macedonian center Oliver Dvojakovski (204-97) who recorded 7 points and 11 rebounds and Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) added 12 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Cartagena maintains tenth position in Group E with 1-10 record. Newly promoted L`Alfas keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Cartagena will face league's second-placed Almassera in Valencia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. L`Alfas will play on the road against Benidorm and hope to win that game.
