Very expected game when 9th ranked Estudiantes B (3-6) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Alcazar (6-3) 75-62 on Saturday. The game without a history. Alcazar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Alcazar outrebounded Estudiantes B 39-25 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Jose Santonja (200-92) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Alcazar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized British David Sainsbury (203-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Diego Gonzalez (188-96) added 14 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alcazar have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Tenerife Naut. and Azuqueca. Loser Estudiantes B keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Alcazar will face league's leader Albacete on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Estudiantes B will play against Villarrobledo (#14) and hope to win that game.
