Regular Season Round 13: Roma S.Azzurra - Roma Luiss 74-55

There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Roma Luiss (4-9) were crushed on the road by thirteenth ranked Roma S.Azzurra (4-9) 74-55 on Saturday. Roma S.Azzurra dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Roma Luiss' 18. They outrebounded Roma Luiss 43-26 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Roma S.Azzurra looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Roma Luiss' players. Montenegrin forward Todor Radonjic (200-97) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winners and Mattia Da Campo (197-97) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Roma S.Azzurra's coach Germano D'Arcangeli used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Stefano Rambaldi (194-91) responded with 22 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and point guard Francesco Faragalli Serroni (176-95) scored 7 points and 6 assists. Roma S.Azzurra moved-up to eleventh place in B, which they share with Sangiorgese. Roma S.Azzurra will face Isernia (#13) on the road in the next round. Roma Luiss' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Roma Roma E-basket.
