Regular Season Round 13: Giulianova - Martina Franca 72-63

Date: December 19, 2015
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Martina Franca (4-9) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Giulianova (7-7) 72-63 on Saturday. Strangely Martina Franca outrebounded Giulianova 42-28 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Danilo Gallerini (185-80) stepped up and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners and guard Lorenzo Bartoli (197-94) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Argentinian forward Andres Bergamin (195-93) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Gaetano Spera (209-93, college: St.Peter's, agency: Players Group) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four Martina Franca players scored in double figures. Giulianova maintains eighth place in B with 7-7 record. Loser Martina Franca dropped to the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Giulianova will face higher ranked Ortona (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Martina Franca will play against Porto S.Elpidio (#10) and hope to win that game.
