We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Aomori Watts (10-11) defeated on the road 8th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (9-14) 79-69 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 26-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Daichi Shimoyama (181-89) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and American forward Jesse Perry (200-89, college: Arizona) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Tomohiro Moriyama gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aomori Watts moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Iwate Big Bulls. Loser Fukuoka Rizing keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Aomori Watts will have a break next round.
