Regular Season Round 11: Nice - Villeneuve 57-56

The most exciting game of round 11 in the LFB took place in Nice. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (8-2) to fourth ranked Nice (8-2) 57-56 in the game for the second place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Villeneuve D'Ascq won fourth quarter 13-5. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) saved the victory by scoring 8 points and 7 rebounds. Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85, agency: Comsport) contributed with 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Marielle Amant (190-89, agency: Comsport) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Virginie Bremont (177-87, agency: Comsport) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Villeneuve D'Ascq. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Nice moved-up to second place, which they share with Bourges and Villeneuve. Nice is looking forward to face league's second-placed Bourges on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Villeneuve D'Ascq will play against Nantes Reze and is hoping to win this game.
