Regular Season Round 15: Angers BC - SAP Vaucluse 77-70

There was an upset when higher ranked SAP Vaucluse (8-7) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Angers BC (8-6) 77-70 on Saturday. Strangely SAP Vaucluse outrebounded Angers BC 51-39 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. SAP Vaucluse was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Cedrick Williams (206-92, college: NC-Wilmington) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. Swingman Thibaut Lonzieme (195-89, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Damir Karaibrahimovic (188-89) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Daye Kaba (191-86, college: Marist) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for SAP Vaucluse. Five Angers BC and four SAP Vaucluse players scored in double figures. SAP Vaucluse's coach Stephane Dao rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Angers BC moved-up to sixth place, which they share with GET Vosges. Loser SAP Vaucluse dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Angers BC will face JSA Bordeaux (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SAP Vaucluse will play against Vitre (#17) and hope to win that game.
