Regular Season Round 12: Castelldefels - Igualada 53-56

An interesting game where fifth ranked Igualada (6-6) edged by three points one of their biggest challengers Castelldefels (5-7) 56-53 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. Strangely Castelldefels outrebounded Igualada 47-30 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Eduard Tejero (195-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and forward Albert Del Hoyo (192-92) who added 15 points during the contest. Igualada's coach Raul Caballero allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Marc Sese (188-93) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and guard David Avila (182-95) scored 4 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Igualada moved-up to third place in Group C-B, which they share with Santfeliuenc and Miramar. Castelldefels lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Martorell and Castellbisbal. Igualada will meet at home Santfeliuenc (#4) in the next round. Castelldefels will play against Pardinyes-L. in Lleida and hope to secure a win.
