Regular Season Round 22: Haneda Vickies - Hitachi Cougars 47-52

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Tokyo where tenth ranked Hitachi Cougars (3-17) defeated 9th ranked Haneda Vickies (3-17) 52-47. It looked good early as Haneda Vickies took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hitachi Cougars had a 20-9 second period charge getting the lead and Haneda Vickies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 47-52. Hitachi Cougars held Haneda Vickies to an opponent 24.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Guard Kasumi Takahashi (167-87) notched 16 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Reika Takahashi (177-88) supported her with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Even 9 points and 8 rebounds by Arisa Takagi (168-89) did not help to save the game for Haneda Vickies. Guard LiQuan Luohe (165-91) added 8 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Hitachi Cougars moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Haneda Vickies.
