We should mention about the upset which took place in Zaragoza, where higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (5-6) lost to sixteenth ranked CAI Zaragoza (3-8) in a road game 72-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Unicaja Malaga won fourth quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CAI Zaragoza forced 19 Unicaja Malaga turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for forward Joan Sastre Morro (201-91) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 5 assists. Dutch center Henk Norel (214-87) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Four CAI Zaragoza players scored in double figures. Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-89) came up with 20 points and Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points respectively for Unicaja Malaga in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. CAI Zaragoza maintains sixteenth place with 3-8 record. Unicaja Malaga at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. CAI Zaragoza's next round opponent will be higher ranked La Bruixa d'Or (#10) in Manresa and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
