Regular Season Round 13: Vicenza - Volpino 90-92

Important game to mention about took place in Vicenza. Eighth ranked Volpino (6-7) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Vicenza (7-6) 92-90 on Sunday evening. Vicenza was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Gionata Zampolli (189-85) stepped up and scored 27 points for the winners and point guard Francesco Belloni (193-94) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Volpino players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Andrea Campiello (200-87) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and power forward Claudio Nobile (206-82) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 20 rebounds and 7 assists. Volpino maintains eighth place in B with 6-7 record, which they share with Desio. Newly promoted Vicenza keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Volpino will face league's second-placed Udine APU at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
