Regular Season Round 13: Falconara - Pescara 89-80

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Pescara (7-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Falconara (10-3) 89-80 on Sunday. Falconara made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Falconara outrebounded Pescara 43-25 including a 34-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Power forward Marco Maganza (204-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Serbian power forward Marko Micevic (201-89) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side guard Simone Pepe (185-93, agency: SPORTlab Agency) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and power forward Matteo Bini (198-94) scored 21 points. Five Falconara and four Pescara players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Falconara maintains third place in B with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Forli, which they share with Bergamo and Crema. Loser Pescara dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Falconara will face league's second-placed San Severo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pescara will play against the league's leader Montegrano (#1) and hope to win that game.
