No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Monsummano (7-6) won against at home 13th ranked Bottegone (4-9) 78-67 on Sunday. Monsummano made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Strangely Bottegone outrebounded Monsummano 34-22 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Andrea Tommei (181-91) stepped up and scored 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and power forward Giorgio Sgobba (202-92) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Fiorello Toppo (198-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Emanuele Rossi (198-91) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Monsummano moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Lecco. Loser Bottegone keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Monsummano will face Rimini (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bottegone will play against Torino and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
