Regular Season Round 13: Scauri - Isernia 114-76

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Isernia (3-10) was rolled over on the road by tenth ranked Scauri (7-6) 114-76 on Sunday. Scauri well out of reach of Isernia shooting 70.5 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Scauri especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Scauri made 15 blocks. The former international power forward Simone Bagnoli (205-81) stepped up and scored 29 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and power forward Leonardo Salvadori (198-93) chipped in 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Scauri players scored in double figures. Scauri's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Alessandro Guagliardi (194-94) responded with 25 points and forward Giovanni Esposito (204-94) scored 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Scauri moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Lecco. Loser Isernia keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Scauri will face higher ranked Palestrina (#3) in Roma in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Isernia will play at home against Roma S.Azzurra (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
