Seventh-ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (12-8) gave a tough game to first ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (18-2) in Hangzhou on Sunday. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions managed to secure only three-point victory 116-113. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 8 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 12 assists and the other American import power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 17 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. Iranian forward Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-2 record. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank at the other side dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions are looking forward to face Liaoning Hunters (#5) in Yingkou in the next round. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play on the road against Jilin Tigers in Changchun and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
