Seventh-ranked Nea Kifisia (4-6) made lots of trouble for second ranked Olympiacos (9-1) in Athens. The visitors managed to secure only two-point victory 75-73. However their fans expected much easier game. Nea Kifisia was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Nea Kifisia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Italian guard Daniel Hackett (199-87, college: USC, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Georgios Printezis (204-85, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 13 points for the winners. American point guard Robert Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Dustin Hogue (198-92, college: Iowa St.) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Nea Kifisia. Four Nea Kifisia players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Olympiacos have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 9-1 record behind leader Panathinaikos. Nea Kifisia lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with PAOK and Trikalla. Olympiacos will play against Aris (#3) in Thessaloniki in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Nea Kifisia will play on the road against AGOR (#11) in Rethymno and hopes to get back on the winning track.
