Regular Season Round 9: Ramat Hasharon - Maccabi R.Hen 77-67

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Maccabi Ramat Hen (8-1) on the court of third ranked Ramat Hasharon on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Ramat Hasharon 77-67. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Maccabi Ramat Hen. Ramat Hasharon dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Ramat Hen's 30. They outrebounded Maccabi Ramat Hen 45-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ramat Hasharon made 7 blocks. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds. Guard Laurin Mincy (183, college: Maryland) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA) answered with 20 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP) added 13 points and 12 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Maccabi Ramat Hen. Four Maccabi Ramat Hen players scored in double figures. Ramat Hasharon maintains third place with 6-3 record having just two points less than leader Maccabi R.Hen, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi Ramat Hen at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Ramat Hasharon is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Elitzur Holon (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi Ramat Hen will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
