Very expected game when 12th ranked San Giovanni (3-9) was crushed on the road by second ranked Lucca (11-1) 72-51. Lucca dominated on the defensive end, holding San Giovanni to just 6 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to San Giovanni's 26. Lucca forced 26 San Giovanni turnovers and outrebounded them 44-22 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American-New Zealand guard Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford, agency: Players Group) who led her team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. American swingman Julie Wojta (183-89, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Lucca keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Ragusa. Newly promoted San Giovanni dropped to the tenth place with nine games lost. Lucca's next round opponent will be Cagliari CUS (#12) on the road which should be another easy win for them. San Giovanni will play against Napoli and hope to win that game.
