Regular Season Round 14: Flamengo - Mogi 79-77

Important game to mention about took place in Rio de Janeiro. Third ranked Flamengo (10-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Mogi (7-5) 79-77 on Tuesday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mogi won fourth quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Flamengo players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international Marcelo Machado (201-75, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 18 points and 7 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) replied with 17 points and 5 assists and American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mogi. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. Flamengo have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Bauru. Mogi at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Flamengo will play against Macae (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mogi will play against Sao Jose/Vinac (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
